Settle Stories, producers of the Settle Storytelling Festival, is delighted to announce BBC Radio Two’s Mike Harding as its new patron.
Living in North Yorkshire, Mike Harding is one of the UK’s best known storytellers. He is also a successful author, performer, comedian and TV and radio presenter with his own BBC Radio Two show. As patron, Harding will advise on the future direction of the Settle Storytelling Festival and help with its promotion.
Mike Harding, patron of Settle Stories said: “Right from when I was a child, stories and storytelling have always been a central part of my life – my mother always used to tell me tales and I still use the stories and jokes my granddad told me in my performances today. I can’t think of a better place to hear and share stories than the Settle Storytelling Festival – it’s grown quickly into one of the country’s top storytelling events and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
Sita Brand, director of Settle Stories said: “Storytellers simply don’t get any better than Mike Harding so for us, it’s a real privilege that he’s agreed to be our patron. I’m thrilled at Mike’s involvement in the Settle Storytelling Festival and looking forward to the stories we’re all going to be telling and sharing.”
