Workington blogger Stuart Sorensen has been nominated for The Most Fascinating Blog Award 2012.
Stuart who is a trainer in mental health and/or social care related topics said: “Interestingly the nomination is primarily because of a post I wrote back in 2010 entitled The Case Against Project Prevention.
“Whether those suspicions are correct or not, it is good to see that those of us who oppose Project Prevention are still being heard. If you’re not familiar with the issues surrounding Project Prevention and would like to know what all the fuss is about I recently compiled all my Project Prevention posts into a PDF which can be downloaded here: Preventing Project Prevention.
“Project Prevention is the American organisation that wants to bribe vulnerable people to accept sterilisation. In UK and USA they target drug addicts. In Haiti they want to sterilise people because they’re ‘too poor’ to have children and in Africa they’re targetting women who are HIV+.
“At first glance the Project looks reasonable enough. They use emotive imagery and distorted statistics to make their case. But dig deeper and you begin to see something very unpleasant indeed.
“If you’re eligible please consider voting for me. This would be a lovely addition to the TWIM Best Nursing Blog award I recieved last month.”
