Police are investigating that at 8am on Monday 17 June a 10-year-old girl reported she was approached by an unknown man in Workington.
The girl was walking to school along Firth View Walk and was waiting to cross the road when the man is alleged to have placed his arm around the girl’s shoulder.
When the girl screamed he ran off in the direction of West Bridge Court.
He is described as being in his mid 30s, approx 5’7” tall, with hairy arms and a large fat build, he was wearing a white t-shirt with red horizontal stripes and black cargo/combat pants with pockets on the side.
Police are treating this as an suspicious incident and would like anyone with information to contact Workington police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
