Storrs Gate House Hotel, a traditional 19th century house located in Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District, is on the market with specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.
The three-storey luxury bed and breakfast has seven ensuite letting bedrooms spread across the first and second floors, a 14-cover dining room and lounge on the ground floor and a terrace which overlooks the property’s gardens.
The current owners, Vince and Shirley Byrne, acquired the business in 1999 and have built it up with traditional-style decor and attractive period features. The business is well-known locally as well as further afield and was a winner of the 2014-15 Breakfast Award by Visit Britain.
Ashley Cobban, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Manchester office said: “Located very near to Bowness Bay and Windermere Marina Village, this hotel resides in an idyllic setting offering a variety of rooms for guests.
“There is great potential for an incoming purchaser to further develop the restaurant side of the business with the introduction of evening meals, which would undoubtedly increase turnover. It would suit all kinds of buyers from either a first-time purchaser to an experienced operator with catering experience who is looking to build on the excellent foundation that the current owners have established in a unique location only minutes away from Lake Windermere.”
Christie & Co is seeking offers over £1.05m for the freehold of Storrs Gate House Hotel.
