FOUR young men have denied allegations of violence following an incident in Workington.
Appearing at Carlisle Crown Court were Nyle Bell, 20, Michael Robert Peter Jenkins, 18, Scott Hannon, 20, and Scott Tony Walton, 18.
Bell and Jenkins pleaded not guilty to causing David Birch grievous bodily harm with intent. This relates to an alleged assault which is said to have occurred outside the Trades Hall social club, at Brow Top, Workington, on November 12 last year.
Bell, of Dean Street, Workington; Jenkins, of Irish Street, Whitehaven; Hannon, of Wastwater Avenue; and Walton, of Windsor Road, both Workington; each denied an allegation of affray relating to the same date.
A trial for all four men is due to start at the crown court on April 24. It is estimated this will last around five days.
