Residents and businesses invited to Mayor of Carlisle’s Burns Supper

The Mayor of Carlisle, Cllr Colin Stothard, is inviting local residents and businesses to join him at his Charity Burns Supper on Friday 27 January.

Tickets are still available for the annual function to be held at The Golden Fleece, Ruleholme, Irthington, Carlisle between 7pm and midnight. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to The Mayor’s Charity Fund 2016/17 whose main beneficiaries this year are: Carlisle Young Carers, Carlisle Key and Hospice at Home. Tickets cost £27, and include a three-course meal, with traditional haggis (Cumbrian beef and vegetarian options available). The Guest Speakers will be:

  • Welcome, Toast to “The Queen”, and Vote of Thanks – The Mayor, Councillor Colin Stothard
  • Master of Ceremonies – Rob Burns
  • Piper – Peter Lee
  • Selkirk Grace – Rev Keith Teasdale
  • The Immortal Memory – Rev Keith Teasdale
  • “Address to The Haggis” – Dr Geoffrey Stitt
  • Toast to “The Lassies” – Councillor Steve Layden
  • Reply on behalf of “The Lassies” – Eleanor Paterson
  • A Scots Medley – Cllr Steve Layden & Eleanor Paterson.
