[A] FRAUDSTER who flouted the court order he was given for his crime has now been handed a suspended jail term.
Dominic Scott, 34, was originally sentenced in November for the part he played in a large scale insurance scam dubbed “cash for crash”. Scott admitted a fraud charge and was one of 35 people eventually sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court in relation to a criminal enterprise said to have been valued at over £600,000.
His punishment was a community order and 75 hours’ unpaid work. But having twice failed to attend appointments, Scott was brought back to court to face Judge Peter Davies, who had originally sentenced him.
Scott, of Sybil Street, Carlisle, admitted breaching his order. As a result he was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and must now complete 150 hours’ unpaid work.
“If there are any further breaches you will go to prison,” Judge Davies told him.
