[A] SHOPLIFTER who struck at the same store twice in two days has been locked up by a judge.
Simon Highmore, 27, stole razor blades from a Carlisle B&M Bargains outlet on April 17, and then pinched beer when he went back the following day.
Three weeks earlier he had also made off with £100 worth of razor blades from the city’s Morrisons supermarket.
Highmore admitted the three crimes and was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court. Judge Peter Davies heard the thief was subject to a suspended prison sentence at the time of his offending – for handling stolen goods on a previous occasion.
Highmore had received unpaid work and a rehabilitation requirement as part of that punishment, but was said to have completed “virtually nothing” of that.
As a result Judge Davies gave Highmore, of Priory Road, Carlisle, a three-month prison sentence.
