[P]olice Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a double fatal road traffic collision on the A76 road near to Sanquhar on Sunday 28 May 2017.
The collision occurred at around 1:15pm when a black coloured Landrover Freelander was in collision with a Harley Davidson motorcycle on the A76 road near to the road leading to Kellofoot Cottages, near Sanquhar.
As a result of this collision the 58-year-old male rider and the 56-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle were killed.
Sergeant Bob McNay of the Trunk Roads Policing Unit at Lockerbie said: “As a result of this tragic collision the road was closed for nearly eight hours while officers carried out a full crash scene investigation.
“We are still appealing for witnesses to this collision and would ask that anyone who can help call Police Scotland at Lockerbie on the 101 number.
“Details of the victims killed will be released when identification processes have been completed and relatives informed.”
