[A] CARLISLE man who armed himself with a Samurai sword to frighten a city householder has been jailed.
Blair Dixon, 22, was said to have taken “the law into his own hands” by equipping himself with the 2ft-long decorative implement.
Dixon took it to a Carlisle flat due to a perceived grievance involving another man, and smashed glass in the front door by kicking it.
He received a six-month prison sentence at the city’s crown court from Recorder Simon Medland QC.
Dixon, of Welsh Road, Harraby, had admitted charges of possessing a bladed article, criminal damage and failing to attend a court hearing.
Recorder Medland said it was “fortunate” nobody in the flat had been injured during an incident which occurred on March 7.
