[A] woman has been freed by firefighters after a road traffic collision at Elleray Road.
Police were called today at 10:47am following a two vehicle road traffic collision, involving two cars.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 10:56am firefighters were called to Church Street, Windermere, after a two vehicle road traffic collision left a woman trapped in a car.
“Crews used a cutting equipment and assisted paramedics to remove her from the vehicle.
“She was then handed over to the care of the paramedics.
“Crews from Windermere and Staveley were at the scene for around one hour. ”
The road was blocked at the junction of Elleray Road and Ambleside Road, near the Grey Walls Hotel but has now reopened.
