[A] MAN has been warned he could be jailed for committing a string of drugs crimes.
Zak Alan David Hawman, 24, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (THURS). He admitted possessing a quantity of class B cannabis, with intent to supply it to another, on October 25 last year.
At a previous court hearing, Hawman, of Ellen Close, Wigton, had entered guilty pleas to six other drugs crimes. These were cannabis production, on or before October 25; possessing class A ecstasy, cannabis resin and amphetamine – both class B – on that date; and being in possession of amphetamine and cannabis on January 23 this year.
Recorder John Corless adjourned the case until June 29. Hawman will be sentenced on that date, and was granted unconditional bail in the meantime.
But Recorder Corless told him the prospect of an immediate jail term could not be excluded.
Thea Jade Cliffe, 22, also of Ellen Close, Wigton, will be sentenced with Hawman on the same date. Cliffe admits three class B drug possession charges.
