[A] MAN accused of an £8,630 fraud has been told he will stand trial later this year.
Steven James Braithwaite, 27, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (FRI).
During a hearing before Judge Peter Davies, Braithwaite pleaded not guilty to a charge of fraud.
This alleges that he made a false representation to Barclays Bank – namely that he was authorised to make transfers in the sum of £8,630 from a Barclays account to an M&S bank credit card account belonging to Graham Wilson.
It is alleged this occurred between April 1 and September 30 last year.
Braithwaite was told by Judge Davies his trial would take place at the crown court in the week of October 2.
It is estimated the hearing will last two to three days.
In the meantime Braithwaite, of Well Ings, Kendal, was granted conditional bail by the judge.
