[C]lassic Theatre Cumbria returns to Penrith Playhouse for their summer production, The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare. It is on for two nights, Friday 14 July and Saturday 15 July at 7.30 pm.
The Comedy of Errors is Shakespeare’s shortest play and one of his funniest. Confusion over two sets of twins and a host of larger than life characters makes this an evening out to remember from one of Cumbria’s foremost theatre groups.
John Davies is the artistic director of Classic Theatre Cumbria and the director of this play. He said: “I have directed this play several times before and it never fails to delight and amuse. One of the great things about directing Shakespeare, about which I am passionate, is that every time is different, even with the same play. We have a great cast consisting of some of our seasoned actors and some bright new talents. I know those who come along for a great night out will not be disappointed.”
Tickets are available at www.penrithplayers.co.uk, on their Facebook page or from Penrith TIC, telephone 01768 867466 at £9, £8 concessions and £5 for students.
