[A] vibrant new city-style hot desk and office space has been launched in the heart of Windermere. Windermere Works offers dynamic loft-type flexible co-working and long-let office spaces – the likes of which are usually seen in Shoreditch and Manchester’s hip Northern Quarter, as opposed to the Lake District.
Located within a former cake and biscuit factory just minutes from the centre of town, Windermere Works is ultra-contemporary and provides freelancers and home-workers with a professional, flexible Hot Desk Hub, in which they can work alongside like-minded people, in an inspiring environment on a pay as you go basis.
There’s a slick Meeting Space for hire too, open to all, seating up to 15 people, as well as a manned Reception area and a Chill Out Lounge where resident professionals can grab a hot drink, all combining to provide a great environment in which to network, build relationships and do business.
In addition to all this Windermere Works offers two spacious industrial-style office spaces, The Bake House and The Sugar Store, each accommodating up to 15 people and available for businesses to make their own on a long term basis.
The overall offering is fresh, contemporary and very different to the office space options currently available in Windermere and the wider Lake District.
Gavin Preston, Director for Windermere Works said: “We wanted to offer a really active, inspiring space for those currently distracted and trying to work at their dining room tables, on their sofas and monopolizing the free WiFi in coffee shops.
“Windermere Works is what we came up with and we are delighted with the finished product. It’s full of stylish industrial character, completely high tech and most importantly, will provide a really dynamic place for people to work – whether they are a one man band just starting out, or an up and coming business with a team of 20.”
The property has been in the Preston family since 1992 and was originally run by Harold Preston, but it’s now the next generation of Prestons overseeing its evolution into Windermere Works, with brothers Gavin and Craig at the helm.
