[P]olice are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A5087 coast road, on the road between Bardsea to Baycliffe.
Police were called today at 2:13pm, following a two vehicle road traffic collision.
A driver and a passenger have been taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 14:28 firefighters were called to a head-on road traffic collision on Coast Road, Aldingham.
“The crash was between two cars and one of the car’s engines was smoking.
“Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.”
The road at Baycliffe, at the Fisherman, will likely be closed for some time and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
