[A] packed programme of food and drink demonstrations is place for this week’s Carlisle Foodies Fest (Friday 21 – Sunday 23 July).
The popular gastronomic event will serve up lots of tasty treats in the city centre pedestrianised shopping.
A Carlisle City Council event in partnership with RR Events, it will celebrate all that’s great about Cumbrian food and drink including a mix of local producers and traders, as well as a host of international delights. It will be held between 10am and 6pm on Friday and Saturday, 10am and 5pm on Sunday.
The Foodies Fest programme will include a series of cookery demonstrations and a programme of entertainment for both adults and children. Pioneer Foods, Two White Hats, the Circle Bar, the Tipsy Filly and the HDM Spice Shop will all be taking part in food and drink demonstrations at different points during the three-day event.
Not restricted to gastronomic delights, the Foodies Fest will also feature a range of liquid offerings to tickle the tastebuds. Expect to see it all (and taste it all) at this year’s event with more than 30 stalls selling their tasty treats each day.
Food connoisseurs are also being urged to get their tickets soon or miss out on the chance to meet multi-Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
As part of this year’s Carlisle Foodies Fest, Jean-Christophe will be sharing his passion and Gaelic charm during his food demonstrations on Saturday 22 July at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tickets cost only £5 and are available online at www.discovercarlisle.co.uk and direct from the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre.
