[C]umbrian teacher Andrew Barton is trading primary school for prosecco with the launch of his new venture Get Fizzed.
The 35 year old, who has been a teacher at Jericho School in Whitehaven for 11 years, has lovingly converted a three-wheeled Piaggio Ape into a hip mobile prosecco bar and will be leaving his job within the next few weeks to concentrate on taking it to events throughout the Summer, as well as providing it for hire for special occasions and weddings throughout the year.
Andrew said: “I’ve been working on this day and night and so it’s brilliant to see my project finally completed and looking so good – it’s turned out even better than I’d hoped.
“Get Fizzed is going to be a regular feature at Cumbria’s festivals and events throughout the Summer, serving ice cold fizz and we hope to be a lovely addition to weddings, corporate events and celebrations too. The reactions we are getting to the prosecco van are priceless! People just stop and stare!”
Get Fizzed’s first event will be The Workington International Market from the 21st to the 23rd of July and Andrew has already been inundated with bookings for weddings as word spreads about his new prosecco van service.
Available for hire for all occasions throughout Cumbria, Get Fizzed’s Piaggo Ape comes fully staffed for three hours, complete with glass prosecco flutes and costs from £650 for 162 glasses of fizz, which equates to around £4 per glass. An optional ‘Pimp your Prosecco Station’ is available too.
