[C]leator Moor Celtic Football Club has teamed up with one of the town’s newest business residents – Britain’s Energy Coast (BEC) – for a 5 year support partnership.
The company will aid the club’s development through sponsorship, committee involvement and strategic guidance. Initial sponsorship will allow for the training of new coaches to support continued development of the club’s adult and youth sides.
Michael Pemberton, CEO of BEC explains the reasons: “Since our HQ move to Cleator Moor a few months ago we’ve started getting involved with the local community more – offering up team members for the Phoenix Role Model Scheme, supporting the Sustran Cycling event and coming on board as the lead sponsor for the local ‘Fun Day’ held on the Moor later this month. One of the things we’ve been looking at is how we can use our knowledge to make a long term difference to a local organisation. We were so bowled over by the drive and commitment the local football club pour into the community that we were encouraged to get involved.”
Alongside a stand and shirt sponsorship commitment, the BEC leadership team will also use their expertise to provide support and guidance around fuel bills, energy usage, property matters and funding bids.
Cleator Moor Celtic Chairman, Martin Mahone, added: “We’ve been keen to secure a long term partner for some time and are delighted that BEC have come on board, not just with funding but valuable expertise. Like many local clubs we are at the heart of our community and with business partnerships like this we can achieve so much more.”
Funding will also be made available to allow decorative and refurbishment works to the club house, ensuring the club is made more attractive and valuable to every member of the Cleator Moor Community. BEC team members will also help with general volunteering at the club.
The football season kicked off at the weekend and Cleator Moor Celtic play their first home game on Wednesday 9th August against Annfiled Plain, scheduled for a 7.45 kickoff at Mcgrath Park.
