[T]he Cumbria Farmer Network and Newton Rigg College are holding an open evening at Low Beckside Farm, Mungrisdale near Penrith on Monday 4th September 2017. Development of the new Upland Sheep Husbandry Centre has recently been completed and farmers from near and far are invited to join the hosts between 5pm and 9pm.
The event will focus on “Sheep Health & Welfare – Now and in the future”, showcasing the new facilities and the college’s state of the art equipment along with a number of agri-supply companies who will also be in attendance to network with farmers and keep them up-to-date on the latest developments in equipment, technology and vet and medicine products.
Adam Day, Managing Director of The Farmer Network said “This type of Farmer Network awareness event has always been popular and can be useful to help farmers make informed choices and business decisions”.
Matt Bagley, Head of Agriculture at Newton Rigg said “This facility has been created to help the next generation of farmers improve efficiency and we look forward to meeting all farmers at the evening to show them what the college can offer students in future”.
