[A]n event steward was left with multiple fractures to his face after being punched in an unprovoked assault at a show over the recent bank holiday weekend.
The victim – Dean Holt, 26, from Blackpool – was working at the Great Eccleston Show on Saturday, August 26th when at some time between 9.45pm and 10:15pm, he was approached by a man and hit in the face. He was left with injuries such as a broken nose and a fractured eye socket.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
PC Ken Armstrong from Blackpool Police said: “This was a nasty, unprovoked attack on a man who was simply working at the event and hadn’t done anything wrong.
“Such was the extent of the victim’s injuries we think he was hit with a weapon such as a knuckleduster. As a result, he has required surgery and has had to have two metal plates inserted into his face.
“If you have any information about this incident, please get in touch with us.”
The attacker is described as Asian, around 6ft, between 30 to 40 years old, of broad build and was wearing a white t-shirt with blood stains on it.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Ken Armstrong on 07866 788299 or if they fail to get an answer, Lancashire Police on 101, quoting crime number WB1707930.
