[C]umbria CVS is inviting anyone who is interested in getting involved in volunteering to come along to the next Volunteering Fair to find out more about volunteering.
This is a fantastic opportunity to speak to over 20 local organisations that are recruiting new volunteers. Organisations will be on hand for people to meet informally to discuss volunteering including ones operating in the area of emergency response, arts, soup kitchen, care, advice work, older people, homeless, conservation, mental health, fundraising, retail, administration, victims of crime, drug and alcohol issues, children, animals, carers, disability, trustees, driving, befriending, youth and lots more! etc.
Organisations attending include: Barrow Library (for Housebound delivery drivers and ICT),Furness Carers, UNITE – Barrow Soup Kitchen, Barrow and District Disability Association, People First Independent Advocacy, Rotary Club of Furness Peninsula, Mind In Furness, Compass Cumbria, Dalton Arts, Age UK Barrow and District, Victim Support Barrow , National Trust Fell Foot Park , Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service (CADAS), British Red Cross, RSPCA Furness and Barrow Branch, Guide Dogs, St Mary’s Hospice, Sightline Vision, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Depaul UK, Cruse Bereavement Care Cumbria, Royal Voluntary Service, Furness Childrens Centre – Walney and Cumbria CVS. Volunteers can chat to organisations and drop in at any time to this event .
The event is informal for anyone who would like to find out more about local volunteering opportunities in Barrow-in-Furness and surrounding areas.
