[T]WO men have admitted being responsible for a violent street attack in Carlisle city centre.
Kyle Ronnie David Peebles, 19, and 24-year-old Aidan Lee Steven appeared at the city’s crown court earlier today (FRI).
Peebles and Steven each pleaded guilty to one grievous bodily harm charge. This states that, on April 17, they unlawfully and maliciously injured Ashley Cooke.
It is said the incident occurred at a taxi rank close to Carlisle railway station, and that victim Mr Cooke’s injuries included a fractured eye socket.
Judge Peter Davies adjourned the case, and was told medical evidence and a victim impact statement would be provided in due course.
Peebles, of Merith Avenue, and Steven, of Blundell Road, both Carlisle, were granted bail until their sentencing hearing. This will take place at the crown court on October 10.
Judge Davies told the pair: “The fact that you are being sentenced on another day and being granted bail does not mean you are not going to go to custody.
“That is one of the options.”
