[A]s the Summer season draws to an end, Talkin Adventures, based at Talkin Tarn Country Park, are looking to the future and planning events that will bring people to this fantastic venue over the Autumn and Winter months.
The reintroduction of boats for hire and organised activity sessions at Talkin Tarn, Brampton, has proved very popular with visitors, leading to an increase in visitor numbers and revenue for the site. Director, Darren Morgan, said “We certainly hit the ground running at our Easter opening, and we’re keen to work hard into the winter with some exciting new events planned.”
The team at Talkin Adventures are planning a dry approach to the winter months with a number of archery events, adventure day camps and team building bookings on the calendar. In line with the October Half Term and Halloween, there will be an overnight event for adults called “INFECTION: GROUNDZERO”. Darren told us, “We will be challenging participants to survive the night, and to find a cure. The rest is under wraps at the moment as we don’t want to give too much away.” In addition to the adult event, there will be a slightly different, daytime version for under 18s.
Talkin Adventures have enjoyed a varied few months as they have worked with a number of school and youth groups, organised corporate team building events and even assisted with the annual regatta for Talkin Tarn Amateur Rowing Club. “It’s been great to meet so many friendly people on our journey so far, we’d like to thank everyone who has been so helpful as we have settled in, particularly Carlisle City Council who have welcomed us to the site.”
