[A] Carlisle man has appeared in court from custody charged with robbery, burglary, possession of offensive weapon and behaving in a violent manner in a police station.
Matthew Kyle Johnston, 22, gave his address as Adelphi Terrace, Carlisle.
The allegations from September 14 involved theft and burglary of £310 from a house in the south of the city, possession of the alleged “sharp object” offensive weapon on the same day.
The alleged robbery offence occurred on September 16 when £10 was allegedly stolen from a male, also while in police custody on September 17 there is an allegation of acting in a violent manner in that he assaulted a officer by hitting him with a chair.
Johnston did not enter any plea and magistrates in Carlisle remanded him in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on October 16.
