[C]umbria Police have confirmed that Ross Lister, who was a serving PC in Barrow, has been dismissed without notice.
The decision was made by Chief Constable Jeremy Graham at a Misconduct Special Case Hearing which took place yesterday (September 27th) at Cumbria Constabulary Headquarters.
The dismissal relates to a Facebook comment posted by Mr Lister, which was considered to be offensive, derogatory and potentially inflammatory.
Chief Constable Graham ruled that Mr Lister’s behaviour amounted to Gross Misconduct.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The matter will also be dealt with by the court and therefore we cannot comment further.
“The court date is yet to be confirmed.”
