[A] TEENAGER has admitted trying to rob a youth of cash in Carlisle.
Luke Ian James Hagan faced two charges when he appeared at the city’s crown court this morning (THURS).
Hagan pleaded guilty to attempting to rob one youth of cash, and also to assaulting the victim’s friend.
It follows a violent confrontation which is said to have occurred on Warwick Road in the early hours of August 25.
The court heard 18-year-old Hagan had punched one of the males twice in the face and demanded money from him, and grabbed hold of the other youth.
An application for the teen to be granted bail was refused by Recorder Philip Curran, who adjourned the case until next Friday for sentence and asked for a background report.
In the meantime Hagan, of Welsh Road, Harraby, Carlisle, was remanded in custody.
“Attempted robbery is a very serious matter indeed,” Recorder Curran told him.
“It is important for you and your future that you co-operate in every way with the preparation of a (probation service) pre-sentence report.”
