[A] teenager has been arrested after a serious three-car road traffic collision occurred near Sebergham.
Police were called at 1:45pm.
The collision on Churchtown Road near Sour Nook involved three small hatchback cars.
Two air ambulances attended the scene along with police and fire and rescue services.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The driver of one of the vehicles, a male, aged approx 17-years-old was arrested.
“The driver of another vehicle, a male also aged approx 17-years-old was flown to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious injuries.
“One other person suffered minor injuries.”
The road is closed.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision and appeal for anyone who saw the vehicles being driven prior to the crash or witnessed it to call Cumbria Police on 101.
