[T]wo young colts abandoned near Carlisle have found new homes at Oak Tree Farm. This pair of coloured ponies were found by a farmer one morning left on his land.
Oak Tree Animals’ Charity were contacted to see if they could help. The ponies were nervous but generally looked healthy and were given a full vet check.
The two ponies, now named Blue and Red, have joined the herd at Oak Tree Farm where they will spend the next three years being gently handled, brought on and then, eventually backed to be ridden. They will then be placed into the Charity’s rehoming programme to find loving forever homes.
Vicki Dobbin, Equine Supervisor said: “Blue and Red are lovely ponies who really deserve a second chance. Being so young they have a lot of potential and we were fortunate to have space in our intake area to be able to help. We are currently fundraising in order to develop our intake area to be able to assist more horses and ponies like Red and Blue who desperately need our support.”
