[A] MAN who shouted abuse at his ex-partner before intimidating her mother will be sentenced by a judge next month.
Ronald John Carter, 58, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (TUES).
Judge Peter Hughes QC was told how Carter had committed four crimes in less than six weeks. On June 12 he was found with a Stanley knife in Carlisle city centre, and stole alcohol from a shop in the same area two weeks later.
On July 17 he shouted abuse at his ex, Debbie Hewer, from across the street, and on July 20 made abusive remarks by phone to her mother Kim Cleverly, who was a witness in that case.
In court today, Carter admitted an intimidation charge in respect of the latter offence. He had previously pleaded guilty to charges of bladed article possession, theft and public order.
Judge Hughes adjourned the case for a psychiatric report to be prepared.
Carter, of Tait Street, Carlisle, will be sentenced on November 28. In the meantime he was remanded in custody.
