[G]reg Johnston, co-founder of Cumbrian charity Team Evie, has won the ‘Inspirational Father’ award at this year’s national Butterfly Awards.
Team Evie was shortlisted in two award categories at this year’s national Butterfly Awards – a ceremony to recognise those who have lost a baby and gone on to make a difference to others. Shortlisted for both ‘Committed Babyloss Volunteers’ and ‘Inspirational Father’, Team Evie attended the black-tie event at Bank House Hotel in Worcester on Saturday 14th October 2017 where Greg collected the award for ‘Inspirational Father’.
Greg Johnston, Evie’s dad and co-founder of Team Evie said: “I am so honoured and grateful to have won the Inspirational Father award for Evie. I was delighted to be nominated and shortlisted but to win is just incredible. We just want to keep making Evie proud and continue to make a difference to other children and their families and to be recognised for this is fantastic.“
Greg and Jill Johnston set up Team Evie in 2015, in memory of their daughter Evie, to help poorly children and to support families who face associated challenges. The charity coordinates the only Bereavement Support group for parents in West Cumbria and fundraises for specialist equipment and child friendly resources to be available in children’s wards across the county and the North East.
