The festive season is a time of year when families traditionally gather. This may be a difficult period for those who have been bereaved.
Hospice at Home would like to welcome the local community to the following Light up a Life events: The Hospice at Home Courtyard, Dalston on Sunday 10th December at 3.30pm and St Andrew’s Church, Penrith on Sunday 17th December at 10.00am.
Bridget McDonald, Fundraiser for Hospice at Home said: “We are delighted to welcome the community to our beautiful courtyard in Dalston. This is the first Light up a Life gathering to take place on our premises and we are thrilled to announce that Caldew School Orchestra are kindly providing live music”. Bridget added “We are also thrilled to be welcomed back to St Andrew’s Church again this year following a very special and moving Service given by Reverend Sargent in 2016. The congregation of St Andrew’s are very welcoming and supporters will be warmly received at the church for a very special Service. Refreshments will be served at both gatherings.”
Hospice at Home also invite you to dedicate a light in recognition of a dearly loved family member, friend or colleague by making a donation towards the cause. If you would like to dedicate a light please complete a Dedication Form, available at our Hospice at Home Shops in Carlisle and Penrith and The Fundraising Office, or on our website http://hospiceathome.co.uk/product/light-up-a-life-appeal/.
Alternatively please call the Fundraising Office 01768 210719 where donations can be made using your credit/debit cards. A Light up a Life card will be sent and this year each donor will receive a special pin badge in recognition of our 20th Anniversary. The names of all those being remembered will be included in a book which will be at each gathering for all to read.
By supporting this appeal you would be helping to give patients the choice to have a peaceful and dignified death at home. The charity would like to thank George Hudson & Sons Funeral Directors of Carlisle and Richardson’s Funeral Directors of Penrith for generously sponsoring this appeal, and Reverend Sargent and all at St Andrew’s Church for their continued generosity. They would also like to thank Benet Waterman for leading their Dalston service and all volunteers who are kindly giving their time to support the appeal.
