[D]etectives have launched an investigation after a 17-year-old boy suffered a fractured skull following an assault outside a Burnley nightclub.
Police were called around 7.20am on Sunday (November 12) to reports of an incident close to Vogue in Hammerton Street.
A 17-year-old boy had been assaulted around 7am following an altercation. The offender then made off from the scene.
The teenager was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and remains in a serious condition.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with information to come forward.
Det Con David Gill, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a wounding in Burnley.
“A 17-year-old boy has suffered a fractured skull and remains in hospital undergoing treatment.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can assist with our enquiries.”
