[A] TEENAGE girl allegedly “gang-raped” by four schoolboys told police they took “50-second turns”, a jury has heard.
The four boys, all teenagers aged under 16, are on trial at Carlisle Crown Court. They each deny two rape allegations, and further deny a charge alleging an additional sexual assault.
It is alleged the schoolboys were responsible for a “pack offence” which included the “gang-rape” of a 15-year-old girl who was a virgin at that time. This is said to have occurred in a “muddy field” at Workington, in darkness on the evening of January 3.
Before that night she had never met the boys, all of whom maintain that their sexual activity with her was consensual.
On day two of the trial today (TUES), jurors watched a recorded interview the girl gave to police. She said one boy put his hands down her pants as they walked to the field. “They all kept saying ‘let me have a turn, let me have a turn’,” said the girl, who had earlier drunk two cans of cider. “I think I was just a little bit too drunk to stop them.”
Of the alleged rape, she said: “They just all kept taking, like 50-second turns, coz I remember one of them saying ‘we just can’t keep having 50-second turns, we’ve got to go all out’.
“I was thinking ‘this seriously hurts’. And I wanted it to stop.”
The police officer asked: “Would you have consented to any of these sexual acts?” The girl replied: “No. I was a virgin before and I would never…”
Under cross-examination, the girl denied she initiated any sexual contact, and denied asking during the incident: “Who wants to have sex?”
Commenting on Tweets sent to a media outlet, the judge said: “There has been a suggestion that the case involves migrants. But that is not the case.”
The trial continues.
