At 10.35am this morning (29 August) police were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man found by the river in the Melbourne Park area of Carlisle.
Police attended and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Following initial investigations, officers are treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious at this time.”
