Break the world record for the largest ever tea dance! To make it into the record books, 307 or more couples are needed to take part. Glasgow currently holds the record – back in 2010 they had 306 couples dancing together in George Square.

Ullswater Beer & Music Festival

Top tenor to launch classical music calendar at four-star Lake District hotel
One of the UK’s foremost tenors is to perform at a Lake District hotel this month – the first in a calendar of classical music events at the venue. Nicky Spence, who has topped the classical charts and has been twice Classical Brit nominated, will be performing at Low Wood Bay, on the shore of Windermere, near Ambleside, on Saturday, May 26.

Looney Tunes come to Eden with the Stu Brown Sextet
Whether you’re a big jazz fan or not, you’d probably recognize Raymond Scott’s wacky, hyper-animated, eyeball-popping ‘cartoon jazz’ that accompanied the Looney Tunes cartoons from the 1940s onwards. The Stu Brown Sextet was formed in 2008 by jazz drummer, Stu Brown, to celebrate 100 years since the birth of the little known band leader and composer, Raymond Scott.
