[A]n explosion of colour will cover Carlisle Racecourse in May as thousands of fundraisers are showered from head to toe in vibrant powdered paint to raise money for a local charity.

On Sunday 8 May Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice will host their second Carlisle Colour Run at the city racecourse. The vibrant fundraising event will see people starting the day in a white t-shirt before being showered in powdered paint around the route.

As the event’s main sponsor Carlisle based Logic will be helping to bring a rainbow of colour to the fundraising event.

Ian Boyd, Logic Business Development Manager, said “Logic Business Systems are delighted to announce they are main sponsors of the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw 25th Anniversary Colour Run event.

“It is quite a coincidence that Logic was founded in the same year, 1986, Gill Melrose first began the project to establish a hospice in Carlisle. A lot has happened since then locally and throughout the world.

“Logic are hoping to provide a slightly different take on proceeding, with plenty of exciting side show events to enhance the day. The exciting day should attract many people from the area to what is a fantastic charity. Logic wanted to find something to sponsor which was local, worthwhile and fun to do and be involved. The colour run quite simply was that event.

“Everyone knows and it touched in one way or another at some point by this and family, friends, supporters and helpers will have a day to remember. There are many ways in which the hospice can be supported not only by the colour run, and it was a surprise to realise how much is required and raised throughout the year, every year. So here’s to a very successful day in May, please let it be a lovely sunny day and fun for everyone who attends.”

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw’s second Carlisle Colour Run is the perfect event for all of the family as it is not about setting the fastest time, it is about having fun. Whether you run, walk, dance or conga around the 5km route, you can help the hospice make a difference in the local community.

Last year’s Colour Run events in Carlisle and Kendal raised over £80,000 to help the hospice provide support, care and activities to adults and children with life limiting illnesses. Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw hospice to better this amount in 2016 by attracting more than 2,000 people to Carlisle Racecourse for a kaleidoscopic day of fundraising.
