S Club’s Jo & Bradley set to perform at local Kendal charity event

StarWalk-2016-web-header-NEW[L]ocal cancer support charity CancerCare are reaching for the stars as they celebrate 10 years of their annual StarWalk event!

This year’s StarWalk takes place on May 21st and offers local people of all ages the chance to run walk or jog either 5 or 10k around Kendal town centre to help raise vital funds in support of South Lakeland families affected by cancer.

A special red carpet after party is also planned for the finish line at Kendal Leisure Centre with S Club members Jo & Bradley set to perform a medley of their greatest hits.

Event organiser Richard Cogger says; “We’re so excited to have Jo & Bradley coming along this year to help us celebrate our 10 year anniversary.”

“We wanted to do something a bit special to celebrate the amazing efforts of our StarWalkers who have helped raise over half a million pounds for CancerCare over the years.”

“As well as an important fundraiser the event is also a lovely way for local families and some of our clients to get together to achieve something really positive.”

“Many of the StarWalkers will be using the event to improve their fitness levels after cancer treatment.  Others will be walking or running in support of someone they know who has experienced cancer or in memory of a loved one so the atmosphere on the night is always very special. So get your friends & family together and come and join our party!”

282G2496_01One of the only night walk events of its kind in the area, CancerCare’s StarWalk welcomes men, women and children to take part together with around 400 StarWalkers expected to take part.

The event kicks off at 8pm at The Kendal Leisure Centre with live entertainment with Danny Matthews and The Bay Radio, a fun mass warm warm-up and huge balloon drop before the walkers set off. Everyone who takes part will receive a free StarWalk t-shirt and winners medal!
