Police appeal after two seriously injured in A69 crash

[P]olice are appealing for information after a collision involving a car and a van on the A69.

It happened at around 4.30am on Saturday, April 2, when an Astra and a VW Caddy van collided on the A69, west of Haydon Bridge.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment. They are believed to have suffered serious but not life threatening injuries.

The A69 was closed for several hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.

Officers believe a HGV was in the area at the time of the collision and are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle as they may have vital information to help.

Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any information to help should contact police.
