[Y]HA is bringing together three emerging music acts for a free gig at YHA Ambleside on 5 May 2016. It is part of a 20 date tour that is being headlined by Jack Rosies, a 22-year-old singer-songwriter, who recently supported MTV award winning Swiss band 77 Bombay Street on its Youth Hostel tour.

The tour, which begins on 1 May 2016 at YHA London St Pauls, coincides with the launch of Jack Rosies’ latest ‘Letters EP’ later this year. His music fuses British folk with elements of country music. You can listen to Jack Rosies’ music at www.jackrosies.com.

Jack will be supported at the free gig by Matt Wright, front man of five-piece dream-folk band King Compass along with Connor Foweraker. Connor is heavily influenced by blues guitar and the best of pop music.

Jack and guests are part of a number of musicians that are using the diverse YHA network of Youth Hostel – based in cities, towns and remote areas of England and Wales to showcase their music to audiences in the UK.

Jack Rosies said of the forthcoming tour: “I wanted to do the YHA tour because I can’t think of anything like it. We’ve got a really cool mix of rural and city shows in the line-up, which I’m sure will keep things fresh and interesting. After playing the shows with 77 Bombay Street, I realised how friendly the audiences were and wanted to get back out to see more of the UK.

“Living in London and growing up in Kent, there’s so many corners of the UK that I’ve not had a chance to explore yet. I’ve got a chance to do that while playing music with my friends, I can’t see a reason not to be excited about it!  I’m looking forward to meeting cool people, exploring new places and hopefully making some good music on the way!”

It shows what a great platform YHA is for upcoming musicians like Jack and his support acts. It’s a great way to introduce people to YHA and show how both the brand and hostels themselves have changed in recent years.”
