Double success for Castletown Dragons

Double Success For Castletown DragonsPenrith based Castletown Dragons u12 side have seen the 2015/16 season out in style, coming away with the league trophy and the W Jameson cup.

The cup final was held on Sunday 24th April at Penrith FC ground, Frenchfield Stadium. The final was between Castletown dragons and local rivals, Castletown Athletic.

The game saw Dragons go in at halftime with a 2-0 lead with goals from Alfie Brunskill and James Potter.

The second half was just as exciting with Athletic fighting to be back in the game, dragons defence put up a sterling performance and held athletic back as best they could.

Double Success For Castletown Dragons2Athletic did manage to claw one back with a goal from substitute Matthew Stamper, however it was not enough and at full time it was Dragons that were crowned champions taking the William Jameson Trophy.

Castletown dragons have also enjoyed success in the Indian Plaza under 12 league dominating the league and with one game still to play they remain undefeated and can not be beaten to the top spot.

This meant a second presentation on Sunday and the boys were awarded the league Trophy. Alan, Darren and Carl the Dagons coaches have worked hard to help the boys progress and the success they have achieved this season is down to the hard work and commitment put in by all involved.
