Man arrested on suspicion of murder after suspicious death in Barrow

Cumbria Constabulary are investigating the death of a 35-year-old Barrow man.

At 10pm yesterday evening (Saturday 30th April 2016) police received reports of a male with injuries in the Meetings View area of Ormsgill, Barrow-in-Furness.

The male was taken to Furness General Hospital by ambulance but died shortly after arriving at hospital.

Police are treating this death as suspicious.

A 44-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and will be questioned by detectives.

Detectives from Barrow CID are eager to speak to anyone who may have been in the area of Meetings View during between 4pm and 10 pm yesterday (Saturday) evening.

Detective Inspector Ian Harwood said: “If you were in the area of Meetings View between these times or if you have any information to offer in connection with this death we would urge you to come forward.”
