New Alfred Wainwright book published by The Wainwright Society

Encounters with Wainwright[T]he Wainwright Society has announced the publication of Encounters with Wainwright (ISBN 978-0-9935921). This book (240 pages long, in full colour and with over 250 photographs – many not previously published), contains 120 stories of people who met or knew Alfred Wainwright.

These range from very brief encounters to accounts from those who knew him over many years. Together they provide much new information and provide the reader with an opportunity to consider Wainwright afresh in the light of first-hand experience.

The book is compiled and edited by David Johnson, Editor of Footsteps (the magazine of The Wainwright Society), and is the result of his research over the last three years.

This is an important book and will be of special interest to anyone interested in Alfred Wainwright and his work.

All profits from sales of this book will go to Animal Rescue Cumbria, the charity that Alfred and Betty Wainwright supported passionately.
