Five admit ecstasy supply plot

[F]IVE young men have admitted being involved in an ecstasy supply plot.

Declan Reece Birkett, Michael John Foster, Stuart Ian Leckey, Peter James Spencer and Aden Wainwright appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (FRI).

The men, all aged 20, each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to supply the class A drug to another.

Their crime was committed between 17th June and 8th August last year.

Spencer, of High Brigham, Brigham, also admitted possessing ecstasy with intent to supply on 7th August.

Background information on all five men was requested by Judge Barbara Forrester. She adjourned the case until 8th July, when they are due to be sentenced.

In the meantime, bail was granted to Spencer and also Birkett, of Gilcrux; Foster, of Wasdale Close, Cockermouth; Leckey, of Tallentire, near Cockermouth; and Wainwright, of The Parklands, Cockermouth.
