[L]ocal MP Tim Farron recently met Status Quo and 10cc in Westminster to promote the ‘Rock on Windermere’ charity concert in June.

Rock on Windermere will raise money for the flood victims through charities including the Cumbria Community Foundation, as well as bringing visitors to the area.  It takes place from 17 to 19 June 2016. Elvis and Abba tribute acts will perform on Friday, before Status Quo and Toploader take to the stage on Saturday. 10cc will perform on Sunday.

Tim said: “Rock on Windermere is set to be a fantastic event – there will be great music, a great atmosphere, and the money will go to a great cause. Local people here in South Lakeland know all too well the damage caused by Storm Desmond last year, as homes, belongings, roads and businesses were left damaged by the floods. In addition to helping to raise money to support the individuals and communities affected by this, this event helps to herald the fact that Cumbria is back ‘open for business’. My thanks go to the bands and to all involved in the organisation of this event.”
