Companies united to raise awareness and funds for Macmillan

KAEFER, Sellafield macmillan[O]n Saturday 21st May 2016 Workers from KAEFER, Sellafield Ltd and other contracting companies united to raise awareness and funds for Macmillan cancer support by completing the 3 lakes challenge in doing so raising over £3000.00.

The challenge consisted of rowing Coniston water, Cycling through Crake Valley, rowing Windermere, Cycling over Kirkstone Pass and finally rowing Ullswater. In total rowing 37.5 km and cycling 27.5km (almost 3000m of climbing).

KAEFER, Sellafield macmillan2The team began at 07.00 hours on Saturday morning and continued through the day with no breaks until the huge challenge was complete late on Saturday night.

The team would like take this opportunity to thank Westways auto centre in Whitehaven for the huge donation and KAEFER Ltd, Sellafield for the use of the transportation throughout the event.
