[C]umbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall, is holding a series of public surgeries across the county and is inviting people to go along and share their views about policing in Cumbria. Mr McCall will be at the Tourist Information Centre (The Old Town Hall), in Carlisle, on Tuesday 7 June, between 2.30pm – 4pm.

Meeting the public regularly to listen to their views on policing is a significant responsibility for the Commissioner and one that Mr McCall promised to fulfil during his election campaign.

Mr McCall explains “I am really keen to speak to as many people as possible across the county as this will help with the development of the Police and Crime Plan which ultimately sets what I will deliver as Police and Crime Commissioner.

“Holding surgeries such as these is just one of the ways that I plan to interact with members of the public, and I urge people to take the opportunity to come along for a chat. I would also like community groups to make contact, as I really want to get out in the community to see for myself the issues and how policing can help.”

No appointment is necessary. Mr McCall will also be at the following locations:

Monday 13 June

Workington, Carnegie Theatre, Finkle Street

Weds 29 June

12 – 2pm

Kendal, Westmorland Shopping Centre

Tuesday 5 July

Penrith, Morrison’s Cafe
