[S]weep, a Pomeranian Chihuahua cross, had only been at the Refuge for a week before finding his forever home in Carlisle: Ronnie and Marianne, who previously adopted a cat from the Refuge, are smitten with the new addition to their family and can’t wait to spend the summer getting to know him properly, and we know the feeling’s mutual!

“We are delighted to have helped 500 animals already this year,” says Caroline Johnson, General Manager, “Every animal matters, and our dedicated staff and volunteer team work tirelessly to ensure that each animal gets the support and help it needs. To have helped this number of animals so far this year is testament to the team’s hard work and we will strive to continue and improve this level of success. We would also like to thank our supporters who, through their generous donations, provide us with the opportunity to help so many animals within our community, without them we would not be able to achieve this level of assistance.”

Every year we help hundreds of animals in need through our rehoming and community outreach programmes; offering up-to-date advice, education and pro-active assistance to promote responsible pet ownership. Our services constantly evolve to respond to the needs of our community and its animals, and we aim to ensure they are accessible to everyone.

Please visit www.animalsrefuge.co.uk to find out more about our work and our plans for the rest of 2016 and the future. It’s an exciting time and our local community support really is vital in helping us find animals like Sweep, their forever homes.
