Carlisle cannabis dealer sentenced

A CARLISLE cannabis dealer has been sentenced by a judge at the city’s crown court.

Tony Lindsay, 29, was said to have been a long-term user who began supplying the class B drug after failing into debt.

But his criminal conduct was exposed when police raided his Baird Road home in the city on 9th October last year.

Almost a quarter of a kilo of herbal cannabis was found at the property. Also recovered was a mobile phone containing messages which revealed he was dealing.

Lindsay pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

And at the crown court today (FRI) he received his punishment from Judge Barbara Forrester.

An eight-month jail term was suspended for two years by Judge Forrester, who heard Lindsay had vowed to clean up his act.

In addition, he must complete a 20-day rehabilitation order, and a 12-month drug requirement.
