Brampton man charged with child sex offence

[A] Brampton man has appeared before a judge sitting at Carlisle Magistrates Court today [Tues] accused with a child sex crime.

Tony Johnstone, 50, is accused that on December 28, 2015 at Brampton being a person aged 18 or over, he allegedly and intentionally caused or incited a girl not reasonably believing she was aged 16, or over, to engage in sexual activity.

Johnstone gave his address as no-fixed-abode, but then said any court correspondence could be sent to his former address at St Martins Drive, Brampton.

No plea was taken during today’s hearing, District Judge Gerald Chalk sent the case to he heard at Carlisle Crown Court on July 18, he was granted conditional bail until then.
